NFO Seattle DDoSes every evening for the last few days

Over the last few days, another NFO customer in Seattle has been repeatedly hammered with such large DDoS attacks that they've been overwhelming the router at the server's location. Each attack has lasted just long enough to empty out the customer's server, meanwhile causing collateral damage in the form of packet loss for other customers like us, and the attacks have been repeated several times every night.

This morning, NFO performed a maintenance event to tweak a setting on this router that they had hoped would help with this, but it has had no significant effect, as evidenced by another large attack that caused significant packet loss for several minutes around 5:20pm PDT this evening.

To take care of this, they're now working on a major router upgrade in Seattle. The hardware for this upgrade has been ordered, and they hope to have the new router in place by Monday, September 27 (when we have the exact timeframe, I'll post about it). In the meantime, they will be keeping very close tabs on the connection and responding immediately to any further attacks there, and they're also considering temporarily suspending service for the customer until the new router can be put into place.

NFO Servers has always been an awesome company. Glad to see that they are so proactive in getting things fixed in a timely manner. Allow me to spam them as they are my neighbors and have supplied many people I know with quality service and professionalism (and I have a buddy that works for them).

UPDATE:

The router has now been replaced. Let's hope that solves the problem.
