tilde (~) to bring up console

type (without quotes) "record demo_thepersonsnamegoeshere"

Hit enter

type "status"

hit enter

close console

Spectate the person you think is a filthy hacker, hit spacebar to view through their eyes, mouse button back to them if they die.
Once you have all the evidence you need

open console again and type "stop"

hit enter.

You have now recorded a demo.

To locate the file and upload it to sourcebans, Open up sourcebans, got to the ban that needs this proof and click "upload demo"

Local Disk (C:) > Program Files(x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > Day of Defeat Source > dod

Is there a way to snap to player while recording?

1. Select the person you are suspicious of...use the left mouse button to cycle through the players, remember only alive players are in that cycle so you may have to cycle through several times. You can reverse cycle using the right mouse button.
2. Once you have your subject, move to first person view using your "jump" key. First person view is where it looks like you are the one behind the gun, it's like your normal game play view.
3. You will have to re-select the person each time they die and re-spawn. The fast way to do this is when your subject dies, hold down your Tab key to view the player screen and find the subject. When the player is dead there is a white skull next to their name. When that skull disappears, they have re-spawned. Release the Tab key and left click your mouse once, this should immediately recapture your subject for the demo.
