Nathion Fillion has stated he would love to do it. He even makes references in Castle about firefly once and a while. Check out season 1 halloween episode. Sorry url is so long. It is safe I promise.

I don't know why the ratings were so low when that series ran originally. I think it's freakin great. I hope they're able to revive it with Joss Whedon and all the same writers.

I think it was up against a tough show, in it's time slot... They, (Firefly), didn't really get a chance. Plus, it was not sold to a lot of networks, (Just SPACE channel, in Canada, which was on the 3rd tier of cable rates), so, again, tough break.
I loved the movie, but, it didn't tie up all the loose ends..I hope they get it back up and running. Casting might be tough, but, hell, they can always set it in the '20 years gone-by' future, so the cast has aged accordingly!

side rant, we need to be able to pick channels for our service that we choose to "pay" for not be sold teirs, tiers are just crap, maybe give 15 percent of your total bill as a service fee to dish network or cable or wahtever but the tier thing is just crap i didnt used to care but now the economy is at the point where it sucks and if they think they can just take away the good shows caus people arent watching them caus they cant afford a whole teier again just sorta crap that or go to internet based viewers to determine shows worth etc :/ along with just actualy based on the amazingness of the story itself : back to fire fly etc lol

Yeah, i switched to Telus for my TV/INT/Phone...they have little 'packages'..They put 1 popular channel in each package. Then make you put up with the rest of the CRAP in the package, to get, say, Space ch.
