computer gimped by virus

must have been all those monkey porn clips i downloaded.

but i've been spending the past coupe hours trying to fix my computer thats infected with the :

rootkit.win32.tdss.d

virus. i have no internet connection on that computer and i'm using ms. bav monkeys laptop at the moment.

has anyone dealt with this virus? i've tried the few online fixes on kaperskys website but nothings worked thus far.

i've already looked into getting a new system though but until then, i wont be able to play

rootkits don't just vanish easily. I would run some more virus scanners.

Generally If we find a rootkit the system is completely rebuilt. They are generally the most dangerous type of malware.

I personally run nod32, malwarebytes, ccleaner, and cookienator when I feel the need to "clean" my computer

I stay away from all free stuff. there is a reason it is free. most ISPs give you good antivirus and spyware. I know i said I stay away from free but the free version of malwarebytes is good.
Also if you are Army you get free AV through AKO.
