Re: Windows 7
Well because I'm a huge supporter of Microsoft I personally think you should buy it. You can pick up an OEM version of Windows 7 Pro for about $150 now. If you're really cheap you can pick up the crippled Home version for about $100.
You could pirate it, but as of a few months ago Microsoft has released an update that detects and kills almost all activators that you can download. Yes, you can tell it not to install this update, but us with TechNet accounts already know about and have access to Windows 7 SP1. This service pack will force the update on you, thus almost all fake activators will be rendered useless. If you don't update, you leave your system open to security holes, worms, and hackers/criminals.
That other issue, is that a lot of keygens/activators are the source of virues and Trojans. It really is worth your money to avoid having your system instantly infected right from the get go. Please support Microsoft's efforts to bring us the worlds currently best Desktop OS available.
If you only paid for one piece of software, your OS would be it. I can't stress how important it is to use a legal OS.
If you really don't want to pay for your OS, then you might want to consider switching over to Linux. I would suggest going with Ubuntu http://www.ubuntu.com/. Ubuntu is the worlds most user/non-techy friendly version of Linux available. There is software called WINE (Wine Is Not an Emulator) that actually converts windows code into Linux code, so you can run Windows software in Linux. I have heard that DoD:S actually runs with better FPS in Linux via Wine then in Windows. Believe it or not.
PM me in steam and I can help you with any technical stuff. I'm also Microsoft certified tech and I get deals on Windows 7, so if you get a hold of me, I might be able to help you get a "legal" copy of Windows for a little cheaper than in store.

If you are in college contact your IT department. Most colleges have deals for students and employees.
Re: Windows 7
It also appears that MS is offering the Family Pack again. 3 Home Premium Upgrade licenses for about $109 U.S. You can also get Home Premium and Ultimate (non-upgrade) for more $$$.

Re: Windows 7
may be your job but not every person will get a pc. I am sure you have to follow certain rules on the usage.
Re: Windows 7
Just do your research
Re: Windows 7
yes, getting back to the actual topic, you might be able to find a place if you do enough research that will get it to you for free, but I think it's worth paying for.

Re: Windows 7
well if u have a student email address from any college (well some college allow free student registration for email address u just need search it around) u can have windows 7 pro for 65 dollar atm @
http://www.microsoft.com/student/office ... fault.aspx
well u can wait since some times that site offer windows 7 pro for 30 dollars
when it is 30 dollar deal it says home edition there is a option to make is pro with no extra charge also the key u purchase from them work for both 32bit and 64bit. so u can just wait it out.
oh don't worry about the upgrade thing it is stupid that doesn't mean u have to own xp or vista or install them before install the windows 7. what really is the upgrade require u have a windows installed in HD before installation enable to active it online , activate or not doesn't matter, so u can use it and fool the installation program to do clean install, just need installed the windows 7 twice. even though the first copy won't active but after 2nd installation it will active.
