Your punkbuster needs to be updated. I had the same issue I uninstalled punkbuster and reinstalled from punkbuster website.

It knows you're a punk so it won't let you play.

You added bfbc2 to the punkbuster update. I had to add the game in to get it updated. If you did then I am stumped. Time for a new computer :D :D :D :D

delete the firewall exception for the BFBC2

fire the BFBC2 and wait for the firewall to pop-up

Allow it again.

There us also a punkbuster verification tool on their website
maybe u need to install that. GL

That doesn't mean you will have the same issues. May be one of many problems. Could be firewall, Antivirus, toolbar, service etc. Best bet is to check their forums or support for other options.

get the verification tool from punkbuster website. As skull[jp] said I had to do it and add bfbc2 in and update it from the verification tool. I have not had the message since.

Mine works fine on Windows 7. If you have a firewall issue or have previously blocked something due to UAC then a reinstall won't necessarily fix it. If it worked before then it's obvious that something has been changed and you need to retrace your steps to figure out why. It's very hard to diagnose computer hiccups without actually sitting in front of the problem PC. Good luck!

Check your services in computer management, local it and look for its dependencies. Also windows firewall in Win7 works a lot differently than xp. You may have to do a little research into it.

by the sound of that - it's your anti-virus or firewall blocking the PB services from executing. Try turning your AV and firewall if it will help.

roll back the system before the update was implemented. That or look at the update history, find the KB and then uninstall the update.

WTF update did you get that I did not get?

BFBC2 runs fine on my Windows 7 machine.

Did you try validating game files or whatever through steam?

I know a lot of you may like AVG antivirus but I have seen a lot of problems caused by it. Most of the time when I get buggy machines I uninstall AVG and it clears up( along with spyware and viruses it doesn't catch). I know some of you will say " well I have it and have not had issues". That may be true but you do not run into as many computers a day as I do.
Consider alternatives to free anti virus like AVG. I would recommend using what your ISP offers at no extra cost to you. Hell you spend enough on Internet, you might as well take advantage of what they offer.
