Japan Earthquake, Tsunami, and Fukushima Nuclear Facility

As you all know a massive 9.1 (upgraded from 8.9) earthquake rocked Sendai and Northern Japan. Furthermore, a nuclear power plant in Fukushima has suffered damage to its reactors and is facing overheating problems (this looks to be under control as of now). There are massive fires raging across Miyagi Prefecture as well. AS if all this trouble was not enough, there are further aftershocks expected and more damage may be done over the next several days. The aftershocks are likely to be small, but there is no guarantee.

We have many visitors to our server from Japan, and some members as well. I want to encourage everyone to keep the Japanese in your thoughts and prayers, and if you can spare your time, keep informed on what you can do to help. Often what you can do won't even involve money. Informing others is a great way. Also, be sure to ask/comfort our players who either reside in or have friends and family in Japan.

My family is fine by the way. Luckily they live in Osaka and were not affected by the tsunami and only had around 3.0 quakes. I do have a friend whose cousin in Sendai has still not been heard from. They are a family of three, the child being a four year old little girl. So if you pray, remember them especially. I'll keep you guys posted as I get more information myself.

Nuclear fallout ain't gonna happen, in fact it was never a real possibility. Sorry to burst your bubble. That whole situation has been over-hyped and misreported in the US and European news. The Japanese news sites say nothing of the sort. In fact, it looks like all is fine.

As for the family I mentioned in my previous post, they have been found safe and sound. They got evacuated in time and are in a shelter outside of Sendai. BANZAI! YATTA! There are many more not so fortunate though. Keep up your prayers and support.

I really feel for all the people over there. It has to be rough, and I'm thinking of them all.

this video shows the 20 kilometer radius of a powerplant.. won't be livable for a very very looong time!

sucks for them. radioactive cesium-137 half life is about 30 years or so. But who knows until the leak is permanantly sealed or stopped. With all those Earthquakes, it may do more damage. Techtonic plates have been very active lately in that region. I hope they survive all of it.
