Ole Betsy down for the count....

Post by bobo-claus »

My Ford pick up which I have owened for over 16 years now is currently sitting in a parking lot roughly five miles away and not able to be drivin. It starts ok, but bogs out quickly. Obviously it's not getting a constant line of fuel to the engine. So, either fuel filter or fuel pump. Neither cheap to fix.

Luckily I have a buddy who works on cars and is *crossing fingers* gonna honor his word and head over and work on it for me.

Wish me luck!

Hey BOBO does your ford have the 2 fuel tanks ? If it does its 90% it may be a fuel pump

I love my Ford Ranger...I've had it since 1994...

That SOB will not die....daily starter, driver....just the basics and that thing will probably outlast my sorry ass LOL....

It's hard to find a good vehicle like that these days. So many of them are fast food beaters, around for a few years and then start falling apart....at least that has been my experience.

Yeah, I got mine in 1995 and a funny story. When I bought it, I didn't even know how to drive stickshift, so my friends who accompanied me, had to drive it back about 20 miles to my house.....lolololol.....

Since then, I can drive it like a doctor uses his scalpel.

I had a 88 Ranger, talk about basic transportation. The only problem was the cat. converter shield would get loose and make an awful noise. We would weld it up and it would last a few weeks before getting loose again. Had to replace my serpentine belt, tensioner pulley and alternator in the HONDA last week. No more scary$$$$$$ noises commin from the engine now.

no shit tomdav. I drove a 90 ranger for a couple years back in the early 2000's. Had an oil leak but that's the only mechanical issue I had, that and could only go 75 downhill with the pedal to the metal
