Account Hijacking
Sup Crew,
I just wanted to let everyone know that my Steam account was hijacked earlier this evening. I received a message with a link from someone in the clan (EDIT: The Canadian) asking, "Did you see what they said about you in the forums?" The link looked like a Steam website asking for my credentials. Without thinking, I tried to login like a jackass, then realized instantly what had happened when it did not respond. Racing to try to change my password Steam logged out right in front of me. I soon received an email notifying me that my user email and password had been changed. I have contacted Valve in an attempt to regain control of my steam account.
I wanted to share two important points with the team:
1. Don't ever put your credentials into any non-https website (always check). Especially one with the domain ".tk"
2. Don't open any links you receive from my user account.
Anyway, I just wanted to keep you guys updated and prevent you from making the same stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.

P.S. You can laugh at me, just a little, I earned it.

Re: Account Hijacking
So you're saying Cougar Bait's account has also been hijacked? I need to know asap, as I need to remove admin powers from all hijacked accounts until recovered.

Re: Account Hijacking
Sup fuckers =P I never post in here.. Cougarbait got a message about his account being hacked... Not sure what's up. I am not sure who Cougar IIRC is. But I am positive that Cougars account is clean and has not been hacked. I have never seen his account logged in at any time when he is not here. He PC is off when he is at work.. I sit right next to the fucker and would have noticed.... I also worked in IT for 10 years. I have had no issues with my networks security as far as I have seen but will run some monitors just to make sure.... Sorry to here you are having issues with your account Bullet =(

Re: Account Hijacking
UPDATE: STEAM ACCOUNT RECOVERED
I was able to regain control of my acccount after calling Valve in person. I wanted to let everyone know how deeply embarassed I am that I allowed my account to be hijacked. It was my fault. Hopefully, noone else was affected by my stupidity.
The Canadian and MadShoe (take note):
I recovered my account by calling Valve in person (425) 889-9642 (Google) and dialing random voice message box numbers until I found a human voice. I was then transferred to the Steam department where I was promised my account would be returned in short order (by the end of the evening). I received an email correcting the issue, and follow-up on my original Steam help ticket within 15 minutes. Incredible service (once you reach a human voice).
I wanted to post my success to document how I expediated the recovery of my Steam account. I feel extremely lucky I was able to do so and hope the rest of the team's accounts are secure.
Hope This Helps,
BulletFodder
