"Looking for the ultimate adrenaline rush on your next vacation? Then the “Cage of Death” might be just for you.
In the Northern Territory of Darwin, Australia, high-intensity thrill seekers can plunge into the water and get face to face with a salt-water crocodile named Choppa. The largest crocodile species, these guys can grow up to 19.5 ft long and can weight over 2,000 pounds.
Those who dare put on their bathing suit and snorkel mask, climb into a 9ft tall cage and are then lowered up to 2 at a time into the croc’s habitat. But this cage isn’t like any other underwater cage because just 4cm of acrylic separate you from the massive jaws of these aggressive crocodiles, which gnaw and snap at the clear material throughout the 15-minute experience.
The Cage of Death is the latest attraction at Crocosaurus Cove, an Australian Croc and Reptile amusement center and serves to bring the bravest tourists extra close to one of the region’s most infamous inhabitants."
